- Support for adults is either via our IDVA service (Independent Domestic violence Advisor) and is for high risk victims either by telephone or face to face. Our IDVA’s attend the North, Exeter, East, Mid and South Devon MARAC’s (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference )in Devon and support victims that have been referred into this process .
- Medium risk victims will be supported via the Assessment, Safeguarding and Early Intervention team over the telephone.
- Standard risk victims will be signposted for support to other DVSA organisations or other support services in their local area.
- Our workers are specialists in dealing with the subject of domestic abuse and work in a multi-agency arena. They aim to improve the safety and wellbeing of service users and any children who live in the home and a support plan will be specifically tailored to an individual’s needs. The workers will help with safety planning and reducing risk; offer advice and guidance regarding criminal and civil court processes; support with issues around housing (signposting and providing supporting letters where needed); referring on to other agencies (e.g. safeguarding agencies); and offer emotional support.
