The Promoting Choice Project is an exciting new initiative working across Devon and Torbay and bringing together organisations and community groups in order to reduce health inequalities, support vulnerable and marginalised women and improve outcomes for children.

We are now looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Promoting Choices Health Navigator (Inclusion and Diversity) to join our passionate team until April 2023. You will be integral in supporting vulnerable and marginalised women and their families across Devon and Torbay, building new pathways and addressing gaps in provision.

 

You will work within a multi-agency system to provide a proactive, person centred service. Key elements of the role include:

  • Developing relationships with community groups, particularly those working with ethnic minority communities.
  • Empowering service users through increasing knowledge, enabling them to make informed choices around their health and maternity care.
  • Increasing knowledge and understanding of early child development and domestic abuse.
  • Recruiting volunteers from within marginalised groups to act as community champions.
  • Assisting the Project Manager to develop new pathways to reduce inequalities for women experiencing complex physical and mental health needs.

You should have proven experience of working with vulnerable people, a commitment to diversity and inclusion and an understanding of community development, alongside excellent communication skills.

Experience and understanding of: Advocacy, multi-agency and working with minority communities is an advantage however training will be provided.

Whilst some remote working is available for this position, it will require travel across the Devon and Torbay area and therefore a full clean driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance are requirements for the role.

Devon Domestic Abuse Support Service is an exciting and innovative project, delivering a range of domestic abuse services across Devon. Join us at a time of growth and development to support victims and children and help perpetrators change their behaviour.

We are now looking to recruit a full time Assessment and Early Interventions Advisor. The successful applicant will be part of an established and experienced team providing high quality telephone advice, guidance and support to both victims and other professionals via our helpline.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting those experiencing domestic abuse, stalking and harassment. The ideal candidate will be dedicated, passionate and motivated to help change lives for the better. Whilst we love experience, we also value transferable skills and welcome applications from anyone wanting to train in this specialist field.

Funded by the NHS Devon Clinical Commissioning Group, we are looking to recruit a confident and committed practitioner to join our Devon service, supporting our domestic abuse and sexual violence service within GP practices across North Devon.

IRIS is an exciting programme aimed at improving the health care response to domestic abuse and sexual violence. 

As part of a team of three Advocate Educators in Devon, this role will provide on-going support for female patients affected by DVA (domestic violence and abuse) and SV (sexual violence).  The role also provides training and advice for health care professionals. Experience in a support or care role would be an advantage. The successful candidate will demonstrate a knowledge of domestic abuse and sexual violence and show an aptitude for supporting people.  You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Admin Assistant 

We are looking for an Admin worker for 25 hours a week based in our Exeter office with opportunities for remote working. You will be part of an experienced team providing high quality admin and support to a team working with victims of domestic violence enabling them to live safely.                                       

You should have proven experience and qualifications in admin work and also have previous IT administration experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy in areas of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
